Terms and Conditions

Contact details
Change of address and all contact and emergency telephone numbers must be notified in writing to the School Office.

Classes
Where an infant class exceeds 15 pupils, a classroom assistant will be made available.
No class will exceed 20 pupils.

Uniform
School uniform is compulsory and must be worn to and from school, at school and at all other appropriate times.

Absence
Absence due to illness must be notified to the office, in writing, indicating the nature of the illness.  Permission for absence, for any reason other than illness, must be obtained from the Headteacher, and the reason given in writing.  Absence, for whatever reason, will not accrue a remission of School fees.

Payment of School Fees
Basic fees cover teaching, books, stationery, art and technology materials, French, and extra curricular activities such as art club, chess club, choir, netball and some games.

A mid-morning drink and biscuit/fruit for Kindergarten children is included in Kindergarten fees.

Early morning club, after school club and prep are invoiced separately in arrears. Educational and residential visits, are also invoiced separately.  Optional extra curricular activities such as:  ballet/dance, speech and drama, tennis, instrumental music and singing tuition, gymnastics and football coaching, are invoiced or paid directly to the visiting peripatetic teacher.  Holiday club fees are paid direct to the club/session leader.

Child care vouchers from employers’ schemes are accepted, please speak to the school office to set up your voucher scheme.

Fees are payable on or before the first day of term.  Failure to settle accounts within four weeks of the start of term may result in the suspension of the pupil.  A 2% interest charge per week will be made on  any outstanding fees.  If fees are not paid when due,  parents will be asked to reimburse the school for any administrative legal or other costs involved in recovering the fees.  If fees for any pupil remain unpaid at the end of the term in which they are due, the pupil will not be permitted to return to the school.

There is a reduction of 1.5% of fees if they are paid on or before the last day of the previous term.  This offer is not available to Kindergarten pupils.  The School will give parents reasonable notice of any increase in fees.

Termination of Education
Parents may end the agreement for educating the pupil either: by giving one full term’s notice, or by paying an amount equal to the next term’s fees, if notice is given at any time before the commencement of the next term.

Notice must be given, in writing, to the Headteacher.  Notice of withdrawal of a child is due by the last day of the term preceding withdrawal, for all classes, including Kindergarten going into the school.  Payment of fees in lieu of notice will be due if notice is not received in time.

A full term’s notice must be received by:
Last day of Spring term to leave in July (end of the Summer term)
Last day of Summer term to leave in December (end of Autumn term)
Last day of Autumn term to leave in March (end of Spring term)

Swimming
Pupils attend compulsory swimming lessons in the Lower Juniors (Years 3 and 4). There is an additional small charge made for these lessons.

Behaviour
The Headteacher has the right to request the removal of any child whose performance, behaviour and/or attitude is not, in the opinion of the Headteacher, in the best interest of the school.

School Health Policy
In the case of minor accidents, permission in writing must be given if first aid is to be administered in the form of antiseptics and/or elastoplast (the relevant form is obtainable from the office).  Should a major accident occur, the child will be referred to the local hospital and next of kin informed immediately.

Medicines to be administered in school should be clearly labelled and accompanied by an explanatory letter and taken to the School Office.  The school cannot accept any liability for the non-administration of a medicine and reserves the right to refuse to administer any medicine or drug.

Parents are encouraged to inform the School of any health problems, particularly those which may have some bearing on the child’s general performance and development at school.  Parents should notify the school of any illness or absence as soon as possible, especially in the case of an infectious disease or contact with one when the Headteacher should be informed so that other parents can be alerted.

Parents will be informed of any illness or accident that a child has incurred during the school day.

More than one member of the school staff is an appointed person for First Aid.

School Closure
The closure of the school during term time due to illness, epidemic or other circumstances beyond the control of the school, shall not give rise to any liability for the reimbursement of fees paid for that particular term.

Insurance
The school insures against fire and burglary, but parents are advised to insure children’s personal belongings.  There is a small compulsory charge per term for pupils’ personal accident insurance.  The school offers appropriate insurance cover for parents assisting with school visits which require them to use their own vehicle.
